Create Dataset from Apple App Store Connect

This article details how to create Dataset from Apple App Store Connect.

PREREQUISITES:
Established connectivity to Apple App Store Connect

1. Create New Dataset

Access New > Dataset > Create New

Enter the basics:

  1. Select the measurement interval that applies to the level of aggregation that you want in your result set
  2. Define if Dataset should be searchable
  3. Input a descriptive phrase in Name
  4. Specify Category to place the Dataset 

Proceed to Data tab to define details

2. Define Settings for Data Collection

  1. Select the Apple App Store Connect Data Source
  2. Specify Data collection trigger that will be used to collect data for Dataset
  3. Select the Apple App Store Connect Report that should serve as a basis for Dataset
  4. Input a plugin Command listing all the data you would like to fetch from Apple App Store Connect
    • Build the query OR
    • Use Visual Editor. This will automatically validate the command
  5. [Validate]
  6. [Enable & View] to proceed to Dataset Viewer

[6.3.1] Datasets can be moved between the available Data Storages. The screen below shows Tableau, but the functionality is essentially the same for all Plugins.

Click the Edit icon next to the Data Storage on Data tab and follow the prompts to complete the operation.

3. Build New Report

  1. From the Actions menu, choose Build Report
  2. Enter a descriptive phrase in Name for Dataset View
  3. Specify Visibility:
    • "Shared": Can be created by Admins and Power Users with the appropriate Privileges and Permissions and accessed by anyone who can view the Dataset
      • NOTE: Metrics and Reports can be created only from Shared Views
    • "Private":  Can only be accessed by Admins or the user who created the View
  4. [Save] to proceed to Report Editor

In Report Editor[Save & View] in the upper right corner
