Making Bulk Changes to Datasets/User Maps

From the Datasets and User Maps list pages, an Admin or Power User with the related Privileges and Edit Access can make Bulk Changes to selected objects.

In 6.2.5,  new options "Group Access" and "User Access" were provided to allow Access to be granted or revoked via the  Dataset or User Map List Page's Bulk change function.

Security is applied when Power Users areusing Bulk Change.  Settings may be changed only on Datasets/User Maps to which the Power User has Edit Access.  A settings values is controlled by Bulk Change Security.

1. Make general Bulk Changes

Content > Datasets or User Maps > List Page

  1. Select one or more Datasets or User Maps to be updated
  2. Click [Bulk Change]
  3. Choose the setting to be updated for all selected objects
  4. Select the new value

Continue the Preview & Confirm > Make Updates > object Updated > Return to LIst (page) path to apply the changes requested

1.1. Grant/Revoke User or Group Access

Content > Datasets or User Maps > List Page

The Bulk Change Process is a more robust when granting or revoking access to a Dataset or User Map:

  1. Select one or more Datasets or User Maps to be updated
  2. Click [Bulk Change]
  3. Choose one of the two Access  options
    • User Access
    • Group Access
  4. According the choice made in Step 3, select a User or Group
  5. Select one radio  button:  "Grant" or "Revoke"
  6. If "Grant" is selected, optionally, use the checkbox to grant Edit Access to the selected individual Power Users or Power User members of the selected Group.  
    1. If a Regular User is selected or is a member of the chosen Group, only View Access to the Dataset or User Map is granted.
    2. If Edit Access is granted, Use Access of the Dataset/User Map's Data Source is also provided to the selected Group or individual PUs
