Concierge Domains: Service Principal & OAuth2 Support for MCP Servers
Additional authentication methods for MCP Server integrations are here.
- Microsoft Fabric Data Agent supports Service Principal and per user authentication via OAuth2.
- Databricks Genie: supports Service Principal directly within Concierge.
- Snowflake Intelligence: supports Service Principal will work with our custom MCP Server, but not their own.
Power BI: Implement Custom Plugin Data Source Editor
The Data Source Editor for Power BI has been completely redesigned to improve usability. Settings are now better grouped, displayed and explained. Dependencies between fields should be far more clear.
Theming: Customizable Tile Metadata
A long-time customer request has arrived—metadata displayed on Tile hover/tooltip, Tile Preview, and Element Viewers can now be hidden and re-ordered directly in the Theme Editor.
Owner Field Re-ordering
Owner Fields can now be re-ordered via Admin > System > Owner Field Setup, this order will then be enforced in Element Viewers, Editors, Global Search, and any other locations where Owners are displayed.
Content Types
We now have a unified Content Type concept that applies to all content in the system, whether associated with elements like External Reports and External Content, or with content that is exposed only through Global Search. New Content Types can be added as needed; by default we include about 120 different types.
Command Menu
No more hunting for a feature/page in our menu system! You can now simply press Ctrl+K on your keyboard (Cmnd+K on Mac) and search for the feature you need! Start typing “da” and automatically see results for Datasets, and so on. You can also access recent content from this menu. In future versions, we’ll expand capabilities to include content search.
PPT Report Packs
As an addition to our existing PDF Report Pack functionality, we’ve added support for PowerPoint report packs as well. A PPTX file will be generated with all expected report images, slide titles, page numbers, and basic branding.
Publishing Workflows
- Publishing Workflows have been simplified to just “Included Categories” (in place of Staging and Publishing Categories). Included categories can be configured to automatically add new content to a specific Publishing Workflow Stage.
- Required fields in a Publishing Workflow Stage have been improved; the system will now only require fields that are visible (to better handle conditionally displayed Custom Fields).
API Enhancements
- Recent Content (returns recently accessed Elements, Datasets, Bursts, Categories and more)
- Security Checks against several key objects: Folders, Datasets, Dimensions, Apps, Targets (Elements was introduced previously, in v7.1.2)
- Element Access (via element_info)
App Builder (Alpha 4)
We’ve continued to iterate on improvements to the App Builder, preparing for a Beta release. Additional details will be added upon release.
