Internationalization of Concierge Queries
English is not the only language Concierge understands. It is possible to allow Users make queries in different languages. This article describes how to activate the internationalization feature of the Concierge service.
Access Admin > System > Search Setup and open the Concierge tab
Scroll the page and find the Internationalize Concierge feature. Select the checkbox near this option and [Save] the changes. After about 15 seconds, Users will be able to talk to Concierge in the following languages:
- German
- Spanish
- French
- Italian
- Portuguese
- Japanese
- Simplified Chinese
- Traditional Chinese
- Ukrainian
- Dutch
- Icelandic
- Norwegian
- Swedish
- Indonesian
If the User is searching for Elements, the Concierge will translate key query terms to English for search and then respond in the requested language. However, Element names and Owner names are NOT translated. Concierge translates descriptions, other Metadata, and labels.
If the User is making a "how to" query, Azure Index request, or addresses FAQ/Glossary, key terms are translated to English to search documentation,and then responses are translated into the requested language.
NOTE: The GPT-4o is a recommended model for supporting translation. We do not recommend GPT-4 for translation. Be aware that GPT-4-turbo on Azure does not translate to German.
