What is Data Collection Trigger?

Data Collection Trigger (or just Trigger) is used to control when content should be updated within Metric Insights. It is a sort of timer that initiates updates every set period of time.

The following types of objects within Metric Insights can be populated through a Tigger:

  • Metrics and Reports sourced from a Data Source;
  • External Report images (e.g., Tableau Dashboard Images);
  • Dynamically populated Calendar Events;
  • Dynamically populated Dimension Values.

For dynamically populated content, the associated Trigger can be found in the relevant Editor.

To find the list of available Triggers, access Admin > Collection & Storage > Triggers
