Create External Content from Microsoft Power BI Cloud

This article describes how to create External Content linked to Applications from Microsoft Power BI Cloud.

PREREQUISITE:

Establish Connectivity to Microsoft Power BI Cloud

1. Create New External Content Element

Access [+ New] > External Content

  1. Enter a Name for your External Content
  2. Choose "Microsoft Power BI Application" as External Content Type
  3. Choose a Category where the External Content will be placed
  4. Set URL Source to "Generate Automatically"
  5. Choose a Plugin Connection Profile
  6. Report: choose an Application that will serve as a source for External Content
  7. URL Template: choose "MS Power BI Application"
  8. External Content URL is generated automatically
  9. Show in: "External Webpage"
  10. [Next: Define Details]

Note: Microsoft Power BI Applications can be displayed only in external webpages.
