Configure Mobile Deep Linking for Qlik Sense

Deep link is a type of link that sends users directly to a mobile app instead of a website or store. It is used to send users straight to specific in-app locations, saving users time and energy locating a particular page themselves – significantly improving the user experience.

Metric Insights supports deep linking for Qlik Sense. A deep link can be accessed from the Action block of the External Report Viewer.

The example below shows how to configure deep linking on iOS but the instructions for Android are essentially the same.

PREREQUISITES:

  • Installed both Qlik Sense and Metric Insights mobile applications

1. Log in to Qlik Sense from Mobile Browser

Log in to Qlik Sense from the mobile browser by using a client authentication link from your administrator

  • You can also retrieve the client auth link from the Qlik Sense Enterprise hub

2. Access Client Authentication

  1. From Home, access the user menu
  2. Select Client authentication
    • You may be prompted to open the mobile application

3. Open App to Add Server

Once you open the Qlik Sense application, the Qlik Sense server will be automatically added

4. Access Content from Mobile App

Access Qlik Sense External Report from MI mobile application

Tap the Qlik Sense button to open the External Report in Qlik Sense mobile application

NOTE: If you don't see button in the mobile application, make sure that "Display open link to BI tool's mobile application" is set to "Yes" for the Qlik Sense External Report Type.
