After you have completed installation of your Metric Insights instance, you must to connect to a Data Source. If you are sourcing data exclusively from Excel or a CSV file, you can skip this step.

1. If you are sourcing data from a database, follow the following instructions to Establish JDBC connectivity to your Data Source.
2. If you are collecting data from cloud or non-relation databases, review the list of supported Metric Insights Plug-ins and follow the instructions for creating your desired Plug-In.
3. If you are connecting to a Data Source for which there is no existing Plug-in, see the following instructions on Create a Dataset with the HTTP Plugin to collect data.
