QlikView v12.80 API Compatibility Fix (Remote Agent .NET Libraries)

Starting with the May 2023 release of QlikView version 12.80 IR, changes to the QlikView API (.NET libraries) make it incompatible with earlier library versions used by Metric Insights.

QlikView version lower than 12.80:

  • No action is required. The existing setup will continue to work as-is.

QlikView version 12.80 (latest):

  • The qvp.dll and QlikOcx.ocx .NET libraries must be manually replaced with updated versions. Follow the steps below.
  1. Connect to the Remote Agent.
  2. Download the updated libraries from the Metric Insights S3 server:
  3. Navigate to the plugin folder on the Remote Agent: C:\Program Files\Metric Insights\Remote Agent\plugins\qv
    • NOTE: The actual installation path can differ.
  4. Replace the existing qvp.dll and QlikOcx.ocx files with the versions downloaded in step 2.

NOTE: If you run several QlikView servers on different versions, and one of those servers is on version 12.80, a separate Remote Agent is required for each QlikView server version. The 12.80 libraries are not compatible with earlier versions, so a single Remote Agent cannot serve both.
