Sync Atlan Glossary with Metric Insights

There is a way to sync Atlan glossary with Metric Insights so that Glossary terms that are assigned to Atlan Assets will be assigned to the corresponding Elements in Metric Insights.

PREREQUISITES:

Existing Datasets from the following Atlan objects:

  • Glossary. NOTE: Dataset must be built using a custom command.
  • Term to Asset Relationship

NOTE:

  • Owner Names in Atlan must exactly match those in Metric Insights.
  • A Glossary Term must belong to a Section.
  • A Glossary Term must not belong to multiple Sections.
  1. Provide a descriptive Name
  2. Select a Dataset created from the Term to Asset Relationship object
  3. Set Match on to "External BI Tool Report ID" (recommended)
  4. Select "MI parsed ID" for External BI Tool Report ID Column
  5. Select "Term" for Term Column
  6. Select "Section" for Section Column
  7. [Save]
  8. [Sync Now]
    • As a result, Glossary Terms will be assigned to Elements whose Assets exist in Atlan.
