SAP Business Objects Plugin Capabilities

This article provides more details about the key capabilities of SAP Business Objects Plugin.

Get Objects

SAP Business Objects Plugin supports pulling the following object types:

  • Webi
  • Webi element
  • XLS
  • Analysis workbook
  • Lumira
  • Crystal report

The scope of the collected objects can be controlled by the Type of objects Optional Parameter.

Get Data

By getting data in Metric Insights we mean the ability to create Datasets. SAP Business Objects Plugin supports creating Datasets from Webi elements.

Get Filters

The Plugin supports pulling Filters from Webi elements to Metric Insights. Filters and Values can be added only individually. Users can apply Filters to External Reports and customize their display depending on input. 

Get Report Image

  • Webi, Webi element, and Crystal report support getting images and PDFs
  • XLS and Analysis workbooks support exporting files

Embed in iFrame

SAP Business Objects External Report can be embedded into the application (Show "In iFrame") or other HTML pages by using embed codes.

Support OAuth 2.0

SAP Business Objects Plugin does not support OAuth 2.0.

Support Content Autosync

SAP Business Objects content can be synchronized with Metric Insights to automatically create new External Reports from SAP Business Objects objects and simplify the process of updating existing External Reports.

Capture Metadata

Metric Insights captures metadata for SAP Business Objects Plugin, but does not reflect it in the application's UI. Reflecting additional metadata in the UI is available by request.
